Dexter cattle originate in southern Ireland and produce both first class meat and milk. They can live on pasture that commercial breeds would not be able to survive on. Our cattle are kept as tame as possible and are not worried by dogs. They are much easier to manage on the hills than sheep.
Dexter cattle grazing on Cobstone Hill (chitty chitty bang bang hill), Turville. The entire site is a SSSI and one of the richest chalk downland localities in the Chilterns. The top of the hill is an important skylark nesting site. Grazing starts after nesting.
