Our two breeds of sheep are Jacob and Hebridean with a few mixed breeds we have picked up along the way.
Hebridean sheep are small thrifty sheep. They can live on very poor forage, but when crossed with a larger breed produce commercially viable lambs. For more information on this breed visit: http://www.hebrideansheep.org.uk/
Jacobs are not as hardy as Hebrideans, but they are quite resilient to dogs.
This Jacob ram and ewes are doing their bit here. The hay they are eating comes from a wild flower meadow two miles away. It is wasteful on hay to feed like this straight on the ground, but the seeds get trampled in and hopefully germinate.
